I think that "E" should be placed at the end of S.T.E.M.  ELA is an important part of our education at AdVENTURE.  I have learned a lot in ELA this year.  We have read some great books, such as Percy Jackson and The Lightning Theif, and Bud not Buddy.  Through reading these books and the assignments given, I have improved my reading comprehension.  I also did a lot of writing development skills.  I learned how to write various types of essays.

When reading The Lightning Theif, and Bud not Buddy, I was given assignments such as taking notes on scenes in the books.  I often collaborated in groups where we discussed our answers and compared them to eachothers. This helped lead me to better understanding of what I was reading.  I also did tracking worksheets that help teach me to follow the time line of the information given in the books.

Not only through worksheets did I develop my punctuation and grammar skills, but also my writing skills.  This year I learned how to write essays.  Cause and effect, reflective, and biography essays are the types of essays that I have learned to write.  It was a bit challenging to complete these essays, because they each had a specific requirement that I struggled on.  With what I have learned and experienced this year, I hope to improve upon and develop my writing skills for next year.

From my experiences this year in developing reading comprehension and essay writing skills, I have learned a lot.  I hope to be able to use these skills in my next school year.  Below are a couple links to some of the work I have done in this class.
