In math we are taught the basic core information that all school kids need to know.   However, in AdVENTURE math we get to do cool projects!  We did a project at Christmas time that had to do with helping a family in need.  We had to use a certain amount of money to help a family with a single mom, a son, a daughter, and a dog.  We also did a super cool project on volume surface area.  I created a three dimensional minecraft character and had to figure out his total volume and surface area.  We worked with partners on some of the projects, because at AdVENTURE it is important to collaborate and work with others.

My favorite project for math was a project about budgeting.  It was a project where we have to buy items for and plan a party.  As you can see in the picture below, I worked with my friend Pallavi on this project.  We were given a budget, and had to purchase all supplies within that dollar amount.  Most of the party items we decided we could get a the dollar store.  Things like plates, cups and decorations were bought there.  We did free games like Wii, a movie on blueray, and bobbing for apples and a dance contest for prizes ( also bought at the dollar store ).  Not only did we have to do the number balance for purchases, but we had to choose the activities, foods, create invitation and guest list.  This was a fun project to do with a class mate!
